Bolton's Nomination Problems are just 'Politics'

What's John Bolton's biggest roadblock to nomination? Not the fact that he sucks as a diplomat. No, it's that nebulous (and somehow negative) force known only as 'politics'.

Reuters:

The White House on Thursday complained that politics is holding up a Senate vote on President George W. Bush's attempt to retain John Bolton as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

"It seems that at this point any objections are based on old political grievances and not his actual performance, and at a time when we are engaged in very important diplomatic activity, it doesn't seem constructive to be trying to play politics," said White House spokesman Tony Snow.

C'mon people, quit playing politics! The man who said, "there's no such thing as the United Nations" and that if 10 floors of the 38-story U.N. headquarters building were eliminated, "it wouldn't make a bit of difference" is perfect as Ambassador to the UN.

While we're at it, let's get David Duke to be Ambassador to Israel -- the logic's the same.
