Gingrich: Vote Reform -- Vote GOP

I subscribe to GOP mailings to get an up-close look at their propaganda. Lately, it's been mostly Republican political stars asking for money and begging me to vote Republican. In this case, the appeal was from Newt Gingrich. The first paragraph says it all:

Real reform in America doesn't come from the top. It comes from the people. The common-sense values of the American people are what twice elected Ronald Reagan and in 1994 elected the first Republican Congress in forty years. Your commitment to these American values has given us a continued Republican majority under the leadership of President Bush, who has led with unwavering determination in the global war for the survival of freedom.

Reform? From the GOP? He's kidding, right? The Republicans already have reformed congress -- from a lawmaking body into a corrupt, crime-ridden hellhole. Now we're supposed to believe that they're in the best position to fix it?

Too funny, Newt. Too funny.
