George Allen and the Republican dirty tricks campaign under investigation by the FBI:
Associated Press:
An FBI spokesman is confirming that agents are looking into reports of voter intimidation in several Virginia counties.
The state elections board says it's received word that voters are getting phone calls apparently aimed at sending them to the wrong polling places -- or tricking them into staying home.
The accusations come amidst a closely watched U.S. Senate race, pitting incumbent Republican George Allen against Democratic challenger Jim Webb.
A Virginia elections official says the FBI is probing the matter because the state board lacks investigative power.
