Kansas City Star:
Missouri Democrats aren’t often in a position to thank Rush Limbaugh for much of anything.
But Wednesday, Democrats were showering the conservative radio commentator with gratitude for his hand in Claire McCaskill’s narrow win over Jim Talent in Missouri’s U.S. Senate race.
“I’d call it an unexpected gift,” said longtime Democratic activist Woody Overton.
“We have Rush Limbaugh to thank for a lot of things,” McCaskill campaign manager Richard Martin said.
See, it was McCaskill's ad that featured Michael J. Fox and it was McCaskill's ad that Limbaugh caught hell for making fun of. At the time, I wrote, "Seems Rush Limbaugh made a serious mistake in attacking the ad. By doing so, he brought it into the 24 hour news cycle, where it's being played several times a day, nationally and for free. This is very bad news for Republicans."
The ad polled extremely well. According to a national study, "Republicans who indicated that they were voting for a Republican candidate decreased by 10% after viewing the ad (77% to 67%). Independents planning to vote for Democrats increased by 10%, from 39% to 49%."
His Excellence In Broadcasting helped broadcast this excellent ad nationwide. I can't imagine many on the right are too happy with him.

Yes, it would seem that God is with the Dems right now. For example, what if King George the Turd had fired Rumsfeld 30 days ago, "sincerly" announced that he was withdrawing himself from the Iraq political conflict, and named a bipartisan congressional commission to select within two weeks an Iraq end-game strategy that was acceptable to the American people? I think we'd still have a republican house and senate, and King George would be sitting high on his throne for two more years. Of course, after the election, he could have done whatever he wanted to do about Iraq (in his own sneaky, underhanded way). So either his "genius" advisors are really dumb (they didn't think of the above ploy and/or really thought they'd win the election), or else King George the Turd is unbelievable dumb and wouldn't go along with them!
