Missouri Republicans are Insane and I Can Prove It

A post-election reminder that Republicans are completely insane.

Associated Press:

A Republican-led legislative panel says in a new report on illegal immigration that abortion is partly to blame because it is causing a shortage of American workers.

The report from the state House Special Committee on Immigration Reform also says that "liberal social welfare policies" have discouraged Americans from working and have encouraged immigrants to cross the border illegally.

The statements about abortion and welfare policies, along with a recommendation to abolish income taxes in favor of sales taxes, were inserted into the immigration report by Rep. Edgar G.H. Emery (R), the panel's chairman.

All 10 Republican committee members signed the report, while the six Democrats did not. Some of the Democrats called the abortion assertion ridiculous and embarrassing.

"There's a lot of editorial comment there that I couldn't really stomach," Rep. Trent Skaggs said Monday. "To be honest, I think it's a little delusional."

What, just a little? If it isn't fully delusional, then try 'crazier than a sack of cats.'

"We hear a lot of arguments today that the reason that we can't get serious about our borders is that we are desperate for all these workers," [Emery] said. "You don't have to think too long. If you kill 44 million of your potential workers, it's not too surprising we would be desperate for workers."

See, there's the problem -- these guys don't 'think too long.'

Hi. Just for sh#ts and giggles, I would like everyone who thinks poor people get some kinda easy handout in this country to do one or more of the following:
Go down to the welfare office and try to sign up for food stamps. Get back to me on where the entitlement culture is there. Two winters ago when I became suddenly unemployed and had my gas shut off, apparently my house was too nice and my car (a 15 year old second-hand mercedes C class) made me ineligible.
Secondly, compare the amount of welfare we hand out to our citizens: it is a fraction of a percent of the federal budget. Compare this with how much we spend on the laser light show in the sky that is "star wars." Call me when the shuttle lands if you think there is some sort of populist welfare society draining off the precious resources of the federal government. KBR and Bechtel have made off with more free loot in the past 3 years than all the Cadillac Queens in the past 10.
As for the crappy neighbors I have down the street who do game the welfare system to the tune of $600/mo (for a family of 8+), they are the greatest reason abortion should stay legal, EVER. I can only imagine the horror if they hadn't had the 4 abortions or so after bearing the 4 half-retarded spawn running around in the front yard with no diapers/clothes/shoes on...
Nix the whole "we don't have enough workers." We have plenty of workers. None of them are willing to be exploited in the same fashion as what the bidnessmen in the Republican Party refer to as "brown gold."
I wished I lived in some imaginary fairyland where all I had to worry about was what some imaginary sky daddy thought about things.
