The city council of Bologna, Italy, has decided to include a naked figurine in the Nativity scene at the city hall.
The nude figure, one of 172 in the crèche, represents a famous deceased porn star, Moana Pozzi, who died from live cancer in 1994 at the age of 33. Pozzi’s statuette and another of Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi were inserted in an attempt to modernize the crib scene.
Last year, the Italian town of Viareggio, in the Tuscan region, included an oversized sculpture of the Virgin Mary in high heels and a mini skirt in its crèche scene.
Pozzi became a cult figure after founding the 'Love Party of Italy,' which advocated legalizing prostitution and brothels, as well as improving sex education and establishing 'love parks.'
