DNC to Stop Accepting Lobbyist, PAC Money

"We are trying to be seamless with the Obama campaign," a party official said. The official said the decision was jointly made. Previous contributions from PACs and lobbyists won't be returned; future ones will Obama aides say that they expect fundraising at the DNC to pick up dramatically as Obama and the campaign begin to raise money into the joint fundraising accounts. The DNC ended last month with just $4.1M cash on hand compared to the nearly $41m held by the Republican National Committee.

A follow-up to the previous post. Under Obama, the DNC is no longer for sale.

"We will not take a dime from Washington lobbyists or special interest PACS – we're going to change how Washington works," says Obama. "They will not fund my party, they will not run our White House, and they will not drown out the voice of the American people when I am president of the United States of America."
