Ex-Clinton Manager Joins Team Obama

clipped from thehill.com

Sen. Barack Obama's (D-Ill.) presidential campaign announced Monday that Patti Solis Doyle, the longtime confidante to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) and former campaign manager to Clinton's presidential bid, will be the chief of staff to Obama's eventual vice presidential pick.

Solis Doyle left her post in the Clinton camp after a staff shakeup in February. She was replaced by Maggie Williams, who led the campaign until Clinton suspended her run and endorsed Obama earlier this month.

Some may see Solis Doyle's position as an indication that Clinton may join Obama's ticket, but the move to the Obama campaign has long been rumored and may not signal anything more than a party attempting to coalesce around its candidate.
Of those two possibilities, I see the latter as most likely. If Hillary were to be the running mate, it's hard to see how hiring someone she'd fired would be all that helpful.
