Boehner Pretends to Be Shocked by Deficit Spending

House Minority Leader John A. Boehner said Thursday night that House Democrats have altered the planned economic stimulus plan to the point that it is now “nothing like” what President-elect Barack Obama proposed.

“It looks like 14 years worth of liberal Democrat ideas that were stuck in the back of a cabinet somewhere. And it’s not the kind of spending, in my view, that will stimulate our economy, create jobs, and, even more importantly, preserve jobs that are out there today,” Boehner said during an interview on PBS’s “Newshour.”

Democrats recently increased the size of the stimulus from $775 billion to $825 billion. After seeing the increase Thursday morning, Boehner said his initial reaction was “oh my God.”

“It’s just more of the same kind of wasteful spending that we have seen in the past,” he added. “I was really shocked.”
Yeah, John. $825 billion is one helluva lot of money, isn't it? And it'll all be wasted on things like bridges and jobs programs and stuff.

Meanwhile, let's all remember that Boehner couldn't shovel money down a hole in Iraq fast enough. When the smoke finally clears, we'll have spent more than $3 trillion. Thanks God that money was wasted in Iraq, rather than on liberal claptrap like affordable healthcare and green energy.

Anyone who buys this act is a chump.
