Reid Says Stimulus Has Enough Votes to Pass

clipped from www.reuters.com

U.S. Senate Majority Leader
Harry Reid said he believes he has the votes to pass a massive
economic stimulus package later on Thursday.

"We hope to have a vote today," Reid told reporters, just
days after Democrats admitted that they were short and needed
at least a few Republicans to pass the measure.

"Do we have the votes? We believe we do. We believe we can
find two Republicans of good will" to back the plan, and, with
Democrats, avoid a Republican procedural roadblock, Reid said.

Good news. Republican obstructionism takes a hit -- assuming Reid's right.

One note, don't you love how Reuters refers to "a Republican procedural roadblock?"

It's called a "filibuster," people. Use the word, people know what it means. The media has refused to report that Senate GOP have been filibustering everything. You need 60 votes to break for freakin' lunch these days.
