GOP Congressional Insiders Say 'Guns, Not Butter'

Here's a fun fact; Republican insiders oppose Obama's budget plan in high numbers -- specifically, 100%. A new National Journal Congressional Insider poll finds that no congressional Republican polled believed that Obama's budget should pass. In fact, they don't want anything like Obama's budget passed.

Asked, "How should Congress respond to the recent deficit projections?" 100% of GOPErs disagreed with the statement "Pass something close to President Obama's budget." 97% said "Delay some major Obama initiatives." The same number said we should "Cut the growth in entitlements." And, big surprise, only 13% agreed that we should "Cut the growth in defense spending."

The phrase you're trying to remember here is "Guns will make us powerful; butter will only make us fat."
