Obama 'a Hit' at Summit, Right Wing Freaks Out

This one's fun. On Friday, Politico ran the headline "Obama faces tough crowd at summit." Today, I find Reuters reporting, "Obama a hit as Americas Summit drawing to close:"

Latin American leaders are hailing as a success an Americas summit closing Sunday that consecrated President Barack Obama as a positive partner in the hemisphere who won over even die-hard anti-U.S. critics.

A formal closing ceremony Sunday was due to set the seal on the Fifth Summit of the Americas in Trinidad and Tobago that served to introduce Obama to a region where America-bashing has long been accepted as a nationalist reflex.

In contrast to the previous 2005 summit in Argentina that ended in discord, the Port of Spain meeting was humming with good feelings projected by the young new U.S. president, who promised a cooperative partnership of equals with his peers.

Obama and Chavez shake handsOf course, Barack Obama's still a commie and a secret Muslim terr'ist, so he can't possibly do anything right -- let alone, better than St. Dubya. The President actually touched Hugo Chavez and the right wing blogosphere's going nuts over it. I wonder how many of these panicky grandmas actually believe that freakin' Venezuela is a threat to the US?

What am I saying? They all do. They're a bunch of paranoid frootloops who believe everyone's a threat to America. It's amazing that these cowards can live in such perpetual fear without snapping and becoming completely delusional...

Dang, I did it again. What am I saying?
