Daring to think that Rush Limbaugh's kind of a dick is a bad career move, if you're a GOP op in Marathon County, Wisconsin. In an op-ed for the Wausau Daily Herald, local Republican party spokesman Kevin Stevenson reportedly "criticized Limbaugh for saying he wanted President Barack Obama to fail." That didn't go over well with the local zombies who call themselves "dittoheads" and they wrote the paper arguing that Stevenson was a commie and a Muslim and a Satanist and a terr'ist. OK, I'm just guessing, but that seems to be a pretty safe bet.
Stevenson, who calls himself a "John McCain-type of Republican" says that it came to a head when a local Republican meeting "got hostile and it got personal."
"They felt I was too moderate in what I was speaking and printing," he says. Not being crazy enough is bad news for a professional Republican these days and they fired him. And, in a written statement, Stevenson proved himself insufficiently insane and far, far too realistic.
"The Republican Party is at a crossroads," he wrote. "Purging people who have differences from its ranks will ensure that it remains a minority party well into the future. The direction the Republican Party chooses, not the Democratic Party, will determine its fate."

As a fellow commie, I beg the Marathon County GOP not to throw us into the briar patch. For the love of God, don't listen to Rush Limbaugh and do everything he says -- exactly, without variation. He's far too brilliant for us. (Wausau Daily Herald)

I wrote earlier today about Manuel Miranda -- apparently no relation to the fruit-hat lady -- who's freaking out that Republicans won't filibuster the nomination of Rick's witch. Just to recap, Miranda used to be a GOP senate staffer, until he got busted for hacking Democrats' emails. So he joined a group called National Coalition to End Judicial Filibusters. Not surprisingly, the goal of the group was to put an end to the unspeakable evil that was filibusters of judicial nominees. Now that Bush is out of office, the group is called Third Branch Conference and exists to urge the filibuster of judicial nominees.
Yeah, he's one of those.
Speaking on a conference call with bloggers, Miranda -- a Hispanic -- said that race shouldn't be a factor in opposing Sotomayor, because Hispanics aren't crazy like blacks. No, really.
"By the way, Hispanic polls, Hispanic surveys, indicate that Hispanics think just like everyone else," he said. "We’re not like African Americans. We think just like everybody else."
Speak for yourself, Manuel. I don't want anyone to even remotely believe I think like you. Racist and stupid? It's kind of an abuse of the English language to refer to that as "thinking." (Plumline)
