Sarah Palin, One of the Best Fundraisers Democrats Have Ever Had

Democrats are set to start using Sarah Palin's "Death Panel" claim to start raising money. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) sent Greg Sargent the following copy:

Sarah Palin is outrageously claiming that Americans "would have to stand in front of Obama’s 'death panel'" to receive care. While Palin’s attack is a complete fabrication, the GOP is closing ranks to defend these outright lies. Over the weekend, former Speaker Newt Gingrich stood by Palin’s bizarre "death panel" accusation on national TV.

But this is how we’ll beat Palin and Gingrich’s shameless fear-mongering -- by every one of us spending every day aggressively fighting back with the facts. That’s why the DCCC has put together Health Care Fact Check Cards debunking GOP myths on health insurance reform with the real facts…

Don’t let Republicans like Sarah Palin get away with making outrageous accusations about "death panels." Please consider helping us with a financial contribution as well. If you contribute $5 or more, it could go a long way in helping us set the record straight with our ongoing ads!

"You may recall that MoveOn recently raised $100,000 in one day with a fundraising appeal citing her 'lies' about climate change," Sargent writes. "I’d love to know how much the Obama 'death panel' brings in."

You'd imagine quite a bit. Sarah Palin is quickly becoming less popular than ever. A new CNN poll puts her at 39% nationally in terms of favorability. And that polling was done before her "death panel" comment. In fact, she's even losing ground among Republicans.

If dems need someone to make the face of the GOP here, they could do a lot worse than Sarah Palin.

I'll be looking for the solicitation from the dems in my email. I'll let you know what verbiage they use. It's not as if they'll need to twist my arm. :)
