Stories to Watch: 9/22/10

You know what I like? Weird and previously undiscovered species of dinosaur. It makes me feel less self-conscious about my own bony crest. Now here's the news...

Oops...

Republicans are about to release a "Contract on America"-style "Pledge to America" tomorrow. If you've been paying attention, you already know what's in it.

The right attacks Obama for saying -- nearly verbatim -- something that the Bush administration also said. If you want evidence that Republicans have hot and cold running outrage taps they'll open on any pretext at all, there ya go. Steve Benen wonders, "Is it me, or is our discourse actually managing to get dumber?"

GOP Sen. Kit Bond manages to tell one helluva lot of lies in fifteen minutes. Luckily, Media Matters is there to clear it all up. Note to press: this is the sort of thing you guys are supposed to do.

While we're on the subject of lying Republicans, Michele Bachmann has scored a perfect "all-False/Pants on Fire record" with PolitiFact. In no case where PolitiFact checked a Bachmann claim did they find that claim to be true. Congrats, Shelly. That's real talent.

FOX News is about to spend a week on how Obama's trying to kill you -- with taxes! Looks like they've already gotten started.

Poll shows Sarah Palin is as popular as BP. No word on whether she still beats the measles.

Apparently, being anti-gay doesn't mean being anti-having-sex-with-men.

Finally, Russ:

The media has ignored the Wisconsin voter suppression scandal, so do your part. RUSS!!
