Stories to Watch: 8/10/12

It's been a while since I plugged the Progressive News Must-Read Superfeed. Get it aggregated, as an RSS feed, or as a twitter robot.

The Obama campaign keeps hammering Romney over Bain.

How Mitt's lost control of even the "veepstakes." Expect to see the word "rudderless" used to describe the Romney campaign soon... Whoops! Too late. Already happened.

Further evidence Mitt's floundering; he calls on "both campaigns" to cease all attacks on "business or family or taxes or things of that nature." In other words, you quit beating the hell out of my Bain years and my unreleased tax returns and I'll quit... Um... What, Mitt? You're calling on Obama to unilaterally disarm. Everyone can see it. You look like both a man in a panic attack and a whiner. Also, it pays to remember that Romney's business career was originally the reason you were supposed to vote for him -- now it's the thing he doesn't want to talk about.

Krugman comes right out and calls Romney's tax plan -- and the economists who wrote it up for him -- fraud.

Fareed Zakaria admits to plagiarism. Not who I would've expected.

The GOP War on Democracy moves on to New Mexico. Don't worry, Republicans won't sleep until they've stamped out the scourge of free and fair elections for good.

Finally, judging from recent polling, Romney's "you didn't build that" smear looks like a dud.
