Stories to Watch: 10/8/12

Happy Indigenous People's Day.

Mitt Romney's a'scared to face children. It's a sure bet they'd want to talk about Big Bird.

The right billed a BS campaign finance non-troversy as an "explosive" scandal that would "rock" the Obama campaign. Not surprisingly, they're having trouble getting anyone serious to give a crap about the story. It's the Brietbart/Dereck Bell/Obama video all over again -- a big overblown, overhyped, and oversold yawnfest.

Pew comes out with a poll showing that Romney has erased Obama's lead and moving ahead nationally. However, Ed Kilgore points out that the study was in the field during a period that would perfectly reflect a post-debate Romney bounce -- in other words, it's unlikely that these will be lasting numbers.

More bounce evidence: Gallup's tracker has Romney down 5, which looks a lot like a bounce coming down.

Today in the GOP War on Voting: Wisconsin Republicans send out voter registration applications with incorrect information, all but guaranteeing they'll be rejected. It's a tough fight, but God-fearing Republicans will do away with the scourge of freedom and democracy yet!

Krugman beats job truthers with a three-pound hammer.

Finally, when Paul Ryan couldn't stand the heat, he decided to flee the kitchen.
