The Tennessean:
[TN GOP Rep. Marsha] Blackburn said on CNN”s “State of the Nation” that she is hearing from “teachers, mental health professionals and doctors” that something needs to be done about the level of violence in video games, specifically referencing the “Call of Duty” shooter games. She noted that the right-wing extremist who killed 77 Norwegians in a shooting and bombing in 2011 had played “Call of Duty” as a training exercise.

Blackburn also called for a review of mental health services and psychotropic drugs, while arguing that guns were no more dangerous that hammers, hatchets or cars.
Hey you, the gun nut who’s spent hundreds and even thousands on a big arsenal of fancypants guns — turns out you could’ve gone down to Ace Hardware and got a hammer that does exactly the same thing! And if you really needed a death dealer, you could’ve got yourself a copy of Gunny McGunnerson’s Video Shoot ‘Em Up.
Boy, don’t you feel like a dope, huh?
And man, is it ever a good thing that only Americans play video games, right? Yup, good thing that countries like, say Japan, don’t have video games or this would be the stupidest damned thing anyone’s said about guns since the last Republican thought it’d be a good idea to open their mouth and reveal the hollowness of their skull.
