And things get off to a great start at CPAC

The stage backdrop prominently features racist segregationist Sen. Jesse Helms, while an African-American family is represented by clip art. Hey look, CPAC acknowledges that black people exist — which I guess is supposed to be reason enough to vote GOP. Writes Dave Weigel, “The conservative who pointed this out to me wondered why CPAC didn’t just grab a pic of Herman Cain or Mia Love or — hey, Allen West!”

I suppose it’s because Herman Cain, Mia Love, and Allen West mean as much to the organizers of the Crazy People’s Action Conference as the clip art family does. They aren’t conservative leaders, they’re decor.
