Stories to Watch: 6/13/13


Six months after the brutal crime, the victims of Sandy Hook were remembered at an event at the Capitol. Six months since school children -- many as young as six years old -- were slaughtered in their classrooms and we decided that the best thing we could do about it was nothing. Not a damned thing. Fuck the blood lobby. Fuck their soullessness. Fuck the terrified weasels who can't face life without being heavily armed. And fuck the worthless cowards in Washington who were too afraid to stand up to NRA and their goons.


The gun control group Moms Demand Action plans to use Fathers' Day to remind many elected officials that they are fathers and that MDA is fighting for kids.


Your daily mass shooting.


I hate to break it to you, but Sean Hannity's a hypocrite, a hack, a demagogue, and a phony. Hard to believe, I know. Steve Benen calls his flip-flopping on domestic surveillance by the NSA "simply breathtaking."


Ron Johnson, a national embarrassment and Wisconsin's shame, says that undermining faith in government is Congress' job. He's certainly an overachiever on that front. I wouldn't trust his ability to drain a bathtub.


The bell tolls for the GOP; in 2012, more white people died than were born.


Finally, the US has confirmed that the Syrian government has used chemical weapons.
