Antonin Scalia to Appear at ACLU Conference

Back when there used to be a drive-in in town, I saw a double feature -- Dracula and The Rose. I kept expecting Bette Midler to put a stake through Frank Langella's heart. I thought of that mismatch when this press release from the ACLU wound up in my inbox:

Confirmed speakers for the event include Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, who will discuss civil liberties with ACLU President Nadine Strossen in a dialogue moderated by NBC News Correspondent Pete Williams. Also appearing at the conference will be Donna Brazile, Al Gore's presidential campaign manager; former U.S. Ambassador Joe Wilson; former White House counsel John Dean; MSNBC's Tucker Carlson; Islamic reformer Tariq Ramadan; poets, dancers, a rap artist; ACLU leaders and many others.

The conference begins at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 15 and runs through Tuesday, October 17 at 5:00 p.m. at the Marriot Wardman Park Hotel, 2660 Woodley Road, NW.

Info on the conference is available here. Scalia better hope Bette Midler doesn't show up with some garlic.
