The Terror Game's Not Going to Work This Time

We keep getting told that polls show Bush and republicans are seen as 'strong on terrorism'. That's their secret weapon for November -- people will be too scared to vote for anyone other than a GOP candidate. Which makes this Harris poll so interesting (from Polling Report).

When asked, "What do you think are the two most important issues for the government to address?" The answers were:

The war.........................22%
The economy (non-specific)......13%
Health care (not Medicare)......12%
Immigration.....................12%
Terrorism........................9%
Education........................7%
Iraq.............................6%
Employment/Jobs..................6%

The question was open ended, meaning that respondents weren't given choices and said whatever was on their minds. It's also important to note that respondents were given two chances to reply, "terrorism," and it still came in fifth.

Not good news if you're republican.
