The Stuff I Didn't Get To -- 3/29/07

Take a picture, it lasts longer...

-Why so few?-
Fun fact: 48% of germans believe the US is more dangerous than Iran. See, we actually have nukes... (Der Speigel)

-Ironic criminals-
Mel Kay, founder, chairman and president of Golden State Fence Co., and manager Michael McLaughlin have both pleaded guilty to knowingly hiring undocumented workers. Which is ironic, since Golden State helped build a fence to keep illegal aliens out of the US. Both are sentenced to home confinement which, both being incredibly well-to-do, isn't going to be all that hard to take. "I feel I have paid a tremendous price," Kay said. "I've lost a lot of accounts. (Customers) don't want to be guilty by association." I guess that's going to have to be punishment enough. (AP)

-Creepy, but not illegal-
A man caught videotaping women's feet at the science library at University of California, Santa Cruz has been banned from the campus for two weeks. Police couldn't come up with a crime to charge him with and some students were unconcerned "It's odd, but I don't think there's any need to jump to conclusions," Graduate student Nellie Chu said. "Maybe he was doing research." Research like seeing how long he could get away with it before someone called the cops, maybe? (AP)
