Not an actual scene from an actual ghost ship


-Spooky-
A yacht off the west coast of Australia was discovered with its engine running, the table set, a laptop booted, the radio and GPS on, but without a soul onbard. The sails were up, but one was shredded. Also found were three life jackets, survival supplies (including an emergency beacon), but no life rafts. Rescuers hope to use the GPS to determine the yacht's course before it was found. (Reuters)

-These stories seem to come in waves-
Jeff Thomson, of Wick, UK, is in the hospital and charged with possessing an offensive weapon and breach of the peace after taking up a katana in a fight at a family get together. Like I say, he's in the hospital, so his attempt at swordsmanship didn't go very well. After the fight with his cousins began over a broken window, Thomson armed himself, but 'was hit over the head with a spirit level in the ensuing battle.' He suffered a fractured skull. Guess you need the armor, too. (Daily Record)
