The Stuff I Didn't Get To -- 6/21/07

President Evil

-Because she really needs the money-
NBC has agreed to pay Paris Hilton as much as $1 million for her first post-jail interview. Hilton, who's only real claim to fame is that she's already got more money than God, will sit down with Meredith Vieira on the Today show and talk about all the stuff she's learned from this experience and how she's grown as a person and touchy-feely crap like that. Not really earth shattering. I can't imagine that the shallow little socialite could have a million bucks worth of wisdom.

The report says that Hilton insisted that the interview be with Vieira "because of 'disparaging' remarks her co-host Matt Lauer made about" Hilton. I'm guessing that puts Lauer squarely in the mainstream. (NY Post)

-Headline of the day-
"Cheney tells agency that Vice President's office is not part of the executive branch." That way, the National Archives don't get his records. It's amazing what bullshit he expects us to believe... (Raw Story)

-He should've thought about that before he bought the damned house-
According to the report, "Roland Lee Germaine, 56, was arrested Monday and charged with three counts of making harassing phone calls to the Northeast Georgia Regional Airport in Winder." Turns out that Germaine had a problem with low-flying planes -- which makes living by the airport a less than ideal choice. The airport director, Glen Boyd, told a reporter, "He'd end with suggestions that he'd be willing to shoot an airplane down. We took these very seriously all along. You just don't know in this day and time what people are capable of doing." Sounds like he's lucky he didn't get sent to Gitmo. (AP)
