-Headline of the day-
"Rep. Hunter: Ann Coulter Is Approaching That Level Of Being A Great American." Really gives you something to shoot for this Independence Day, doesn't it? In related news, GOP Presidential candidate Duncan Hunter also calls David Duke 'a voice of tolerance,' Benedict Arnold 'the most misunderstood founder,' and Dan Quayle 'the finest mind the world has ever known.' (Think Progress)
-A brief moment of sanity-
George W. Bush to WaPo reporter Peter Baker, "Why does the rest of the world seem to hate America? Or is it just me they hate?" Really, why should the rest of the world have a different opinion of Bush than most americans do? (Washington Post)
-The system works-
Headline I found a lot funnier than I should, "Price of machetes drops after elections." After political gangsters in Nigeria created a run on machetes prior to the elections, the prices have dropped down to normal again. The boom time is over, says nigerian trader Usman Masi. "Before the conduct of the general elections, I was selling a minimum of seven machetes daily but can hardly sell one a day now."
How sad for him... (Reuters)
-It's headline day, apparently-
You've got to love headlines like this -- "Fla. Man Stabbed, Injured By Catfish." Actually, there's a little grammar problem there -- the unnamed FL man was stabbed and injured with a catfish, which is only slightly less surprising than being attacked by an armed fish.
Seems a man and his friend got into an argument when the fish was thrown. A lucky shot buried a fin in the man's back and lifeguards, who are good at everything, had to cut the fish out of the man's back. The assailant had obviously not been informed about the new affordability of machetes. (Local 6)
