Double-duty protesters call for VP Cheney's impeachment and raise awareness of the clap
-It's called 'making sure'-
The US military made a big deal out of killing Kamal Jalil Uthman (AKA Said Hamza) last week, calling him 'the al Qaeda in Iraq military emir of Mosul.'
"In the north, Iraqi army and coalition forces continue successful operations in Mosul," Brig. Gen. Kevin Bergner told reporters while announcing his death. "Kamal Jalil Uthman, also known as Said Hamza, was the al Qaeda in Iraq military emir of Mosul. He planned, coordinated and facilitated suicide bombings, and he facilitated the movement of more than a hundred foreign fighters through safe houses in the area."
The problem? Uthman's death was also reported last year in a military report titled, "Tearing Down al Qaeda." No word on whether they used a wooden stake through the heart this time. (The Examiner, via Think Progress)
-Not exactly beloved-
A poll released by American Research Group shows that 54% of 1,100 respondents supported impeachment for Dick Cheney and support for the efforts of presidential hopeful Rep. Dennis Kucinich's efforts to find cosponsors for articles of impaechment against the veep. Republicans remain completely out of touch with the mainstream, with only 17% supporting impeachment, while a majority of Democrats and Independents favor it.
Asked for comment, every GOP presidential candidate ran screaming. (Raw Story)
-Oh dear, I'm getting cynical-
Another Fark headline I found much more funny than I should; "Gunmen holding girl demand money. Tomorrow's followup: Gunmen with money demand girl." Actual story at CNN. (Fark)
-[Real] Headline of the day-
"Breast enlargement becomes most common graduation gift in Italy." See the story for an extremely unlikely example. (FUN Reports)
