Once again, americans have to turn to the BBC for the truth. (From reddit, legwork by me)

-The creepiest place on Earth-
Mayville, WI has a problem. According to the report, "With brooding vultures perched high in treetops and on tombstones, the landscape of the normally serene Graceland Cemetery looks like a page out of an Edgar Allan Poe tale." The birds are described as a "large flock" and, according to Mayville PD officer Tony Trunkel, "It almost looked like a vortex in a funnel cloud with all the birds soaring in circles,"

The birds are covered by Migratory Bird Treaty Act, so shooting them is out of the question. Police have taken to harassing them with "pyrotechnics -- screamer sirens and bird bangers -- fired from a 15mm launcher." But vultures, not surprisingly, aren't easily frightened -- they spend their whole lives looking at other vultures. What's scarier than that? (Fond du Lac Reporter)

-Headline of the day-
"High winds prevent debut of wind turbine in Michigan." At least they picked a good place for it... (AP)

-Why Ahab chased the whale-
Thomas Kyle Nursey of St. Augustine, FL was arrested and charged with criminal mischief after crashing his Ford F-150 into the door of a local church. Asked by St. Johns County deputies why he'd done this, Nursery answered that he was "angry with God." Here's the mughsot fun:

Look, let's leave aside for a moment the longshot odds on whether or not God exists -- what are the odds that He lives in a church in St. Augustine, Florida or that He was even home in the first place? (Local6.com)
