The Stuff I Didn't Get To -- 9/5/07

Hand flipping coin
Sen. Larry Craig demonstrates his decision making process

-Changing his story... Again-
First, Not Gay Sen. Larry Craig was guilty. Then he wasn't. Then he wasn't going to resign. Then he was. Now he may not. That's what you like about these rockribbed Republican types -- they're decisive.

According to a voicemail (left at a wrong number), Craig said before his big resignation speech, "Arlen Specter is now willing to come out in my defense, arguing that it appears by all that he knows that I have been railroaded and all of that. Having all of that, we've reshaped my statement a little bit to say, 'It is my intent to resign on September 30.'... I think it would help drive the story that I am willing to fight, that I've got quality people out there fighting in my defense, and that this thing could take a new turn, or a new shape, has that potential." A half hour later, he said he'd resign. Now not -- or, least, not if he can weasel out of it before his self-imposed September 30 deadline comes up.

Legal experts say there's a snowball's chance in hell of that. So he's going to resign. I think. (ABC News)

-It's free country-
A group of australians plans to set a world record by baring their asses at once. The group, "Bums Not Bombs" calls for 2,000 people to moon in honor of Bush's trip to their country, in order to "tell Bush what we really think about his visit."

It's a good thing these people live in a free country. If they'd tried to pull something like that in Texas they'd be on their way to Gitmo now. (AFP)

-Holy crap-
The headline at Crosswalk.com: "D. James Kennedy Now With the Lord." Right wing religious nutcase Kennedy has joined Jerry Falwell in whatever Hell is reserved for these people once they're done wasting their lives trying to screw up everyone else's.

Right Wing Watch reminds us why the world has improved slightly with a collection of Kennedy quotes:

With other dangerous and contagious diseases, all sorts of efforts are made to identify those carrying the disease, and to minimize their contact with the public. And yet, here we have homosexual rights groups working day and night to make sure AIDS victims ARE NOT IDENTIFIED! ... Until action is taken, AIDS victims are free to infect anyone...

SEX WITH CHILDREN? HOMOSEXUALS SAY YES! (headline from a newsletter)

To put it simply, no Darwin, no Hitler... We have had 150 years of the theory of Darwinian evolution, and what has it brought us? Whether Darwin intended it or not, millions of deaths, the destruction of those deemed inferior, the devaluing of human life, increasing hopelessness; Darwin’s theory has been deadly, indeed... The time has come to recognize that evolution is a bad idea and should be, frankly, discarded into the dustbin of history.

As the vice-regents of God, we are to bring His truth and His will to bear on every sphere of our world and our society. We are to exercise godly dominion and influence over our neighborhoods, our schools, our government... our entertainment media, our news media, our scientific endeavors -- in short, over every aspect and institution of human society.

The Lord is welcome to him. The world has no use for him. (Right Wing Watch)
