The Stuff I Didn't Get To -- 9/7/07

C'mon buddy, get the lead out!

-WTF is with these people?-
Not Gay Sen. Larry Craig got a little support from his son and daughter on ABC's Good Morning America last Saturday. The public show of familial support didn't do Craig any good and has landed the daughter, Shae Howell, in hot water. Turns out that Howell is a fugitive from justice -- I shit you not.

According to the report, "...a reader of the news Web site Boise Guardian discovered after watching the TV show that Howell also had a local warrant for arrest with a $500 bond. The warrant was issued in April because Howell failed to appear at a court hearing related to 2006 charges of unlawful entry and malicious injury to property, both misdemeanor charges." Here's the mugshot fun:

Shae Howell

According to The Smoking Gun, "Howell unlawfully entered the residence of David Howell and destroyed photographs of his (the pair appear to have been married, but the current status of that union is unclear). The complaint, a copy of which you'll find here, was filed last November by the Boise City Attorney's Office."

Seriously, is the entire Craig family a practical joke Idaho is playing on the rest of the nation or what? (FOX News, Smoking Gun)

-Headline of the day-
"Test-drive a Nissan and win a lead-laced mug." A japanese ad campaign was called off after promotional coffee mugs were found to have unacceptable levels of lead -- over 30% above permissible levels under japanese law.

I don't have to tell you what country the mugs came from, do I? (Reuters)
