The Stuff I Didn't Get To -- 10/22/07

Chuck Norris with guns and flag
Doesn't actually know jack about America

-Chuck Norris is on drugs...-
...or something. In endorsing Mike Huckabee for president, the right wing actor says "Like our Founding Fathers, he's not afraid to stand up for a Creator and against secularist beliefs."

When did they do that? Jefferson said, "History, I believe, furnishes no example of a priest-ridden people maintaining a free civil government. This marks the lowest grade of ignorance of which their civil as well as religious leaders will always avail themselves for their own purposes," and Franklin said, "Lighthouses are more helpful than churches." Sounds pretty damned secular to me.

Crack a book, Chuck. There's this whole new thing called "history." (WorldNetDaily)

-Headline of the day-
"NRO: Bush, Cheney deserve Nobel Peace Prize." You've got to wonder what's so confusing to National Review Online about the word "peace." Now, if there were a Nobel Violence Prize or a Nobel Clusterfuck of an Invasion Prize, they'd win it hands down. (Think Progress)

-News you can't possibly use-
A survey by CNN and Travel and Leisure magazine finds that the least attractive people in the US are in Philadelphia, PA. This is bad news for a city still recovering from another study, by the American Obesity Association, which ranked it in the top 10 for fattest people in the US.

Philadelphia just beat out Washington, D.C. for the honor of least attractive. I think it's because Dennis Hastert's retiring. (Reuters)
