Chris the way we're used to seeing him -- with his mouth open
-It's hard to feel sorry for him-
In an interview with MSNBC's Keith Olbermann for Men's Journal, reporter Paul Tullis did a little calling around. In the article, Tullis cites an unnamed "senior executive at MSNBC" who told him, "Keith runs MSNBC. It's been an amazing turnaround, because two years ago they were going to cancel him. Because of his success, he's in charge. Chris Matthews is infuriated by it."
I don't much like Chris Matthews -- not because he's not a good pundit (he's not), but because he's a freakin' loudmouth who spends almost as much time interviewing people on his show as he does with sentences that begin "I think..." If Matthews is pissed because Olbermann's getting all the attention, then it's one more reason to like Keith Olbermann. (TVNewser)
-Headline of the day-
"O'Reilly: I should be on the Supreme Court."
No Bill, you should be in a mental hospital. (Think Progress)
-Bonus HotD-
"Payless is more than a shoe store for Rudy staffers."
Giuliani staffers are foregoing paychecks these days. According to the report, "About a dozen members of Rudy Giuliani's senior staff are passing up their January paychecks to conserve cash -- a sign of money worries inside the campaign as Giuliani heads into costly make-or-break primaries ahead."
And he hasn't even really started competing yet. WTF is he spending money on, forehead polish? No word on whether the amount of the checks has been reported to the Federal Elections Committee. You'd think it'd have to be -- it's clearly an "in kind" donation to the campaign.
This story makes me think that if Rudy doesn't take the Gold in Florida, he's out. How's Rudy polling in Florida? 19% -- 8 points down from McCain.
Can't really say I'll miss him much. (Baltimore Sun)
