Same old, same old...
-A New Year's resolution-
President Bush enters 2008 determined to get Congress to work "securing more money from Congress for Iraq" and to "permanently revise the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act."
In other words, Bush made a resolution to push for the exact same crap he pushed for last year. The opposite of "progress" isn't "Congress," it's Bush. (Washington Post, via Think Progress)
-Headline of the day-
"Russert predicts Paul could beat Giuliani in Iowa." I suppose it's good news for Paulistas desperate for good news, but an unthawed convenience store burrito seems to be more popular than Giuliani in Iowa. Losing to Giuliani would be a definitive loss.
Seriously, tell us something we don't know. (Raw Story)
-On the subject of Ron Paul...-
MoJo Blog reports that "Ron Paul supporters are up in arms over the expulsion of their candidate from a Fox Republican candidate forum two days before the New Hampshire vote."
And Paul's not the only one. "Under criteria set by the sponsors, Chris Dodd and Joe Biden, two sitting Democratic senators, and Dennis Kucinich, a sitting congressman, are likely to be excluded" from dem debates. What's the point of debates if they're already decided by polling?
Following FOX's reasoning, democracy is all about kissing the ass of the biggest demographic and telling everyone else to screw off. Although, I guess you could say this about the frontrunners of either party -- in which case, forget I said anything. (MoJo Blog)
