The Stuff I Didn't Get To -- 2/22/08

BIll Clinton selects donuts at a shop
C'mon... Who doesn't like donuts?

-Dems like their donuts-
If there were ever any question as to whether the Democratic party was today's law and order party, new details on campaign spending might put them to rest -- both campaigns are spending more on donuts than your average police force.

According to the report, Clinton "paid $1,885 to Dunkin' Donuts; Obama spent $720 at the chain." What explains the $1,165 cost differential?

Two words -- Bill Clinton. You ever see Primary Colors? (LA Times)

-Polling you can't possibly use-
A FOX News poll on the presidential race asks the normal questions -- who would you vote for, who wouldn't you, etc. But you have to get to the end of the article to find the typical FOXy BS.

"Who does Usama bin Laden want to be the next president?" they ask. "More people think the terrorist leader wants Obama to win (30 percent) than think he wants Clinton (22 percent) or McCain (10 percent). Another 18 percent says it doesn’t matter to bin Laden and 20 percent are unsure."

Of course, to be extremely accurate, the average respondent could only answer that question one of two ways; "How the hell should I know?" or "Who freakin' cares?" I know, you're not supposed to answer a question with a question, but in this case you can be excused. (FOX News, via reddit)

-Headline of the day-
"Nader to discuss election plans."

Ralph will be on NBC's Meet the Press this weekend. There's making a point and then there's beating a dead horse. Find another way, Ralph. (AP)
