"Let's gang up on this Huckabee jerk..."
-Mittens to rise from the grave?-
One of Romney's kids, Josh Romney, is saying that Poppa Willard may jump back into the race. The reason given is McCain's high-profile lobbying scandal broken by the NYT.
If I were a Mittens fan, however, I wouldn't hold my breath. I'm guessing he's poking the media with a stick to generate different headlines for the GOP and make that side of the '08 campaign seem less dull.
Either that or they're sick of Huckabee. (L.A. Times)
-Headline of the day-
"Clinton says Saturday Night Live makes her case of press bias."
Her proof? According to the report, "A parodied Univision reporter, panelist Jorge Ramos says, 'As you know, uh, Senator, as I explained in the letter that I duct-taped to your front door--and I'm sorry that it went on so long. I just, uh, I just really, really, really, really, really want you to be the next president. And not just because you're a fantastic human being and the only person who can turn this nation around, but, you know, also because deep down I really and truly believe that it is destiny that you and I will one day be together. That you will become a part of me, and I a part of you. Joined as one.'"
Well, there ya go then... (Raw Story, with video)
-Today's WTF?-
Hillary Clinton's campaign released the following photo of Barack Obama to Drudge Report:
Obama's campaign called her on it -- and that's where things get weird. The Clinton campaign's response:
Enough.
If Barack Obama's campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed. Hillary Clinton has worn the traditional clothing of countries she has visited and had those photos published widely.
This is nothing more than an obvious and transparent attempt to distract from the serious issues confronting our country today and to attempt to create the very divisions they claim to decry.
We will not be distracted.
What? If the Clinton campaign thinks there's nothing wrong with the photo, why did they release it? Whoever wrote that "We will not be distracted" must be suffering from toxic levels of hypocrisy.
Here's a crazy idea -- campaign on the damned issues!
Just a thought. (TPM Election Central)
