The Stuff I Didn't Get To -- 3/12/08

Dawn Wells on 'Gilligan's Island'
Gilligan's Island, broadcast at 4:20 daily

-Celebrity mugshot fun-
Dawn Wells, who played the character "Mary Ann" on Gilligan's Island is serving six months unsupervised probation after police found marijuana in her car. Here's the mugshot which, as far as celebrity mugshots go, is actually fairly decent:

I wouldn't have it framed, but compared to James Brown's or Nick Nolte's, I'd say she looks positively respectable.

According to the report, when she was pulled over in Idaho for driving erratically, "Wells said she'd just given a ride to three hitchhikers and had dropped them off when they began smoking something. [Arresting officer] Gutierrez found half-smoked joints and two small cases used to store marijuana." A friend of Wells later claimed that he'd left the pot in the car, but the court wasn't buying it.

This isn't the first time she'd been linked to drug use. According to NNDB, "In 1998, Wells briefly went into hiding when Bob Denver, the actor who played Gilligan, was arrested after receiving a marijuana delivery. Numerous reports suggested that Wells had sent the package, as his long-time 'supplier,' but she was not charged."

I know, she doesn't really look like trouble. But if she offers you brownies before a big job interview, I'd pass if I were you. (AP)

-Headline of the day-
"Scarborough: 'I'm against hookers being wiretapped'."

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough makes a strong stand against wiretapping prostitutes. Good for him -- now maybe he can start making a case against wiretapping you and me.

Scarborough's position on waterboarding hookers remains unclear. (Raw Story)

-I told you so...-
Mike Huckabee hints that he wants to be the next Pat Robertson. In a post on his blog, Mike wrote, "Of course, I will be working hard to elect GOP candidates this year -- from Senator McCain all the way down to helping with candidates at the state level. I will also be creating an organization that will help us focus on activating people around the nation to take a stand and become citizens who are both informed and involved in America's future. We will have more details about that soon."

Just what we need, another right wing evangelical political org. Remember, Robertson ran for president and lost, too. Why do these guys, who've been massively rejected by voters, come back to tells us what "real Americans" want? What part of "You suck!" do they find so confusing? (Right Wing Watch)
