McCain demonstrates his reflexive reaction to Bush's voice
-Maverick?-
A new analysis of John McCain's voting record shows that Baghdad Johnny and George W. Bush are on pretty much the same wavelength. On issues where Bush had expressed an opinion, McCain's vote agreed with that opinion a vast majority of the time. The low point in their psychic siamese-twinsness was in 2005, when McCain and Bush agreed only 77% of the time.
The high point is this very year, where McCain has yet to vote contrary to Bush's wishes -- that's right, 100%. Last year, McCain was nearly as in synch with the Decider with a 95% rate of agreement.
McCain is trying to distance himself from Bush, but his record suggests that the nickname "McSame" is going to follow him around for a while. (Progressive Media USA, via Think Progress)
-[Well, duh!] headline of the day-
"Obama vs. McCain: sharp differences on key issues."
That's right, Reuters thinks you need to know that John McCain and Barack Obama are two different people from different parties locked in a battle of competing ideas.
Good to know. Otherwise upcoming debates would be really pointless. For example, McCain is white, Obama is kinda not. McCain is old, Obama is not. McCain likes the Iraq war, Obama does not. McCain wishes President Bush would stay the hell away from him, Obama hopes for the opposite.
See? Big ol' honkin' differences. Weird. It's almost like there were an election for a reason. (Reuters)

"My wife was advised to get a colonoscopy. We shopped around, negotiated. Then after the colonoscopy was done, the hospital pulled a huge list of stupendously expensive charges out of their ass."
