Loves Christian America, Republican Jesus, and both of his families
-Headline of the day-
"Congressman Comes Clean on Love Child."
And that's really the least of NY Republican Rep. Vito Fossella's problems. This all started with a DWI arrest. "When he was pulled over [in Washington, DC], Fossella reportedly told police that he was going to visit his sick daughter," the report says. "The response raised eyebrows because Fossella's wife, Mary Pat Fossella, and their children live in his New York district."
Things got worse when his mistress, Laura Fay, bailed Vito out. According to the report, "Asked why Fay would be the one to scoop up the Fossella, aides described her as a 'good friend' of the congressman."
I'll say...
In a released statement, Fossella said, "Over the coming weeks and months, I will to continue to do my job and I will work hard to heal the deep wounds I have caused."
Not surprisingly, Vito Fossella is a phony "family values" type with a Family Research Council rating of 75 and an ACLU rating of 0.
It's always the Uber-Christian-types who pull this crap, isn't it? I guess they figure being tight with Jesus earns them a pass. (ABC)
-The Circle of Life-
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, rotting garbage to natural gas...
According to the report, "300 garbage collection trucks in California will soon be fueled by the same trash that they haul. Landfill gas will be purified and liquefied, producing up to 13,000 gallons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) daily."
Doing this for just the 300 trucks will reduce carbon emissions by more than 30,000 tons per year.
But it's the poetic beauty of garbage-fueled garbage trucks that does it for me. It's obviously what God intended. (CleanTechnica, via reddit)
-Ironic or stupid-
The head of an anti-immigrant group spoke to a chapter of a far right wing fringe group in Alamogordo, New Mexico recently. In the very first paragraph of the news report, the funny is delivered:
A presentation by Bob Wright, president of the Patriots Border Alliance, was heard by nearly 60 attendees at the Eagle Forum monthly meeting at Margo's Mexican Food in Alamogordo Tuesday afternoon.
There's nothing like freaking out about the Mexican menace over a nice plate of tacos. (Alamogordo Daily News, via Right Wing Watch)
