A new Newsweek Poll shows that Sen. Barack Obama has a substantial double-digit lead, 51% to 36%, over Sen. John McCain among registered voters nationwide.
Obama's current lead also reflects the large party-identification advantage the Democrats now enjoy -- 55% of all voters call themselves Democrats or say they lean toward the party while just 36% call themselves Republicans or lean that way. Key finding: Only 14% of Americans say they are satisfied with the direction of the country.

Some may call this a post-nomination bump, but 15% would be a helluva bump. Unless McCain can really manage to get his act together, he looks pretty screwed here.
