The sign says it all
-So how hard does Pelosi blow?-
Turns out that it's pretty damned hard. Glenn Greenwald, who's massively pissed off, takes on House leadership in a post about FISA. Turns out that they did what they always do -- folded like a french door and gave Bush everything he wanted.
But it's lower in the piece that we get to anything that could remotely be called "funny," so that's exactly where we go. He points us to a poll at FOX News that asks, "Do you approve or disaprove of the job Congress is doing?" 19% of Democrats approve, compared with 23% of Republicans.
That's right, the Nancy Pelosi-led Congress is more popular among Republicans. And why not? They always give Bush and Republicans every damned thing they want. They just pretend that they've "lost a fight" before they do it.

How lousy was the House "compromise" on FISA? So bad that the word "compromise" doesn't actually apply. The actual word to use would be "surrender."
See, I've always defined a compromise as an arrangement in which all parties agree to be equally unhappy. The best sign that this isn't a compromise is that Republicans are so happy they could just shit.
"I think the White House got a better deal than even they had hoped to get," said Republican Senator Christopher Bond. They didn't just get what they wanted, they got chocolate sprinkles, too. (NYT)

The roll call vote for the FISA legislation is here. If your rep is listed under "Yeas," they badly need a good hollering at.
If you still don't feel you've vented enough after that, go to Pelosi's Speaker page and yell at her too. I know I did. If your rep is Nancy Pelosi, then you should probably only yell at her once. But remember, Cindy Sheehan's running for Nancy's seat.

As bad as Nancy Pelosi is, it pays to remember that someone's worse. And that someone is George W. Bush. In fact, approval polls of the president seem to move in only one direction -- down. More and more people realize that this guy really sucks every day.
In a new American Research Group Poll, Bush gets 25% approval and 71% disapproval. Sadly, it turns out that 25% of Americans are untreated mental patients. But it's moving in the right direction, ARG's previous poll in May gave Bush 28%.
