Pat Buchanan giving his RNC speech in 1992
-Headline of the day-
"Pat Buchanan Advertises His Book On Neo-Nazi Radio Show."
I suppose "advertises" is correct, but "plugs" is better. Buchanan didn't buy a spot during program, he was a guest. According to the report, Pat showed up to "promote his new revisionist history of the Second World War, Churchill, Hitler, and the Unnecessary War: How Britain Lost Its Empire and the West Lost the World." The show, "Political Cesspool," isn't just vaguely Nazi -- it's as freakin' Nazi as a David Duke fan club meeting.
The show's stated mission is to "represent a philosophy that is pro-White" and we're told that host James Edwards and crew "seek 'to revive the White birthrate above replacement level fertility and beyond to grow the percentage of Whites in the world relative to other races." They say that "Secession is a right of all people and individuals. It was successful in 1776 and this show honors those who tried to make it successful in 1865." In other words, Yay for the Civil War. Seriously, these people a crazier than a cork anchor.
Buchanan took the opportunity to praise Nazi-sympathizer Charles Lindbergh, defending his statement that WWII was the result of "the Jewish community" who were "beating the drums for war."
You know, Pat Buchanan once gave a speech at the Republican National Convention where he railed against gays, liberals, women, Ted Kennedy, Al Gore, Bill Clinton, abortion, pornography. Judges, Hillary Clinton. and the spotted owl. Many believe it helped kill George Bush the First's chances in 1992.
But it was the great Molly Ivins who nailed it dead center, as she nearly always did. "It probably sounded better in the original German," she said.
The Nazi in the frequent cable news talking head was apparent even then. Remember, next time you see Pat on CNN or MSNBC, just turn down the volume and say, "Crazy, crazy, racist, bullshit, crazy, bullshit, racist, racist, lunacy, bullshit," and you'll pretty much get the gist of what he's saying. -Here comes summa that "straight talk"-
"Straight Talk Express" conductor John McCain sets the record straight on claims by the crazy, liberal media that Iraq wants a timetable for US withdrawal. During an interview, Baghdad Johnny had the following exchange with an interviewer:
Q: Senator, with Iraqi leaders now calling for a timetable for U.S. troop withdrawals–
McCAIN: Actually, the Iraqis are not. The Iraqis were widely reported as short a time ago as a couple of weeks ago that there would be no status of forces agreement, and Maliki would say that, and it got headlines, and of course it turned out not to be true.
If I were an interviewer, I'd carry a game show buzzer around with me. "BZZZT! Sorry, that's incorrect." They want a timetable.
You know, if there's any more of this "straight talk," I'm going to start thinking that maybe McCain's a big fat liar. (Think Progress)
-Polling the stupid-
A Pew Research poll asked respondents what you'd think would be a pretty stupid question -- and you'd be right. But ask a stupid question of stupid people and you get stupid answers.
“Now, thinking about Barack Obama’s religious beliefs… Do you happen to know what Barack Obama’s religion is? Is he Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, atheist, agnostic, or something else?”
Christian 57%
Muslim 12%
Jewish 1%
Something else 2%
Don’t know - Heard different things 10%
Don’t know - Haven’t heard enough 15%
Refused 3%
Every answer between "Christian" and "refused" represents a moron. Let's do the math... carry the one...yup, an even 40% of those interviewed were stupid. And I think that 1% who answered "Jewish" had icepicks in their heads.
Although, now that I think about it, when you consider the number of morons on the road during rush hour every day, 40% seems a little low. (Carpetbagger Report)

Pat Buchanan's new book makes some great points but falls apart when he spins he tries to spin his antisemitism in to something he thinks people can digest. He poises him self in a position where you have to agree with him, but then drops a bomb in your lap. Nice tactics, but none the less futile. I suggest reading this book review on his new book.
