"No, Really: It's the Liberals Who Are Elitists."
That was MoJo's Jonathan Stein's reaction to this Cindy McCain quote on CNN; "In Arizona, the only way to get around the state is small private plane."
You know, I could've sworn Arizona had roads. Just a sec, let me check... Yup. I mean, it's freakin' Arizona, not the Amazon basin. You don't need to be a bush pilot to get around.
Think the McCain's are just a bit out of touch with the middle class, just a tiny bit removed from the lives of everyday people? Yeah, that's because you're a whiner.
Asked for comment on the critism, she answered, "Let them eat cake." (MoJo Blog)
-Reversal #4,603,757-
John McCain was against gay adoption Sunday, when an interviewer for the New York Times asked him about it. Did I say "was against it?" I meant to say "thought it was the end of the damned world." He was against it "even if the alternative is the kid staying in an orphanage, or not having parents."
Well, that turned out to strike a lot of people as stupid, nuts, or stupid-nuts. So Baghdad Johnny backpedalled today. Campaign spokeswoman Jill Hazelbaker later said, "McCain could have been clearer in the interview in stating that his position on gay adoption is that it is a state issue."
In a more formal statement, Hazel Jillbaker still later said, "McCain’s expressed his personal preference for children to be raised by a mother and a father wherever possible. However, as an adoptive father himself, McCain believes children deserve loving and caring home environments, and he recognizes that there are many abandoned children who have yet to find homes. McCain believes that in those situations that caring parental figures are better for the child than the alternative." Thanks for clearing that up, Baker Jillhazel.
For those of you who are keeping score, that's three policy shifts in three days -- totally against it no matter what, then letting the states decide, then that it should be allowed if there are no alternatives (which suggests the states shouldn't decide).
If there are any more changes in the next few hours, Jaker BazelHill promises to let us all know. (Think Progress)

"Bad dancing draws suspicion, pot charges."
According to the report, "An 18-year-old Plymouth [WI] man whose bad dancing at a city festival attracted the attention of authorities was charged Monday with two drug-related misdemeanors, according to a criminal complaint." Sucking in front of the stage at a street fair is, apparently, probable cause now. Jeffery G. Holm Jr., could face up to seven months for possession of 2.6 grams of marijuana, a glass pipe, and a "marijuana cigar."
Dude, that's harsh... (Sheboygan Press)
