A Good Take on McCain's 'Paris/Britney' Ad

John McCain, shame on you. You vowed an honest campaign about the issues.  But you've fallen back on bullshit political smear tactics.

What you really did with your latest commercial, Sen. McCain, is call me a groupie, a vapid and stupid groupie, for supporting Sen. Obama. Yeah, that's the way to win voters to your side.
Jane makes a good point. In insulting Obama for being popular, McCain insults those Obama's popular with. This attempt at making popularity a problem for Obama didn't work for Hillary Clinton, either.

See, here's the thing -- this is a democracy. The most popular guy is supposed to win. Being on the side of the guy who's winning isn't a character flaw.

Stick to the issues, John. These stupid, sniping, cynical detours down Triviality Lane aren't doing anything to help anyone other than yourself.
