Jane makes a good point. In insulting Obama for being popular, McCain insults those Obama's popular with. This attempt at making popularity a problem for Obama didn't work for Hillary Clinton, either.
See, here's the thing -- this is a democracy. The most popular guy is supposed to win. Being on the side of the guy who's winning isn't a character flaw.
