Prisoner of the Vietnamese
-[Reddit] headline of the day-
"The McCain campaign keeps emphasizing that McCain was a prisoner in Vietnam, as proof of his qualification for the Presidency. Well, so was Gary Glitter, and I'm not voting for him either."
That's some solid reasoning there, although I don't think Glitter's running. Actual post here. (reddit)
-The kids are alright-
A new Harvard Institute of Politics poll finds that Barack Obama pretty much owns the youth vote. By how much? By twenty-goddam-three per-freakin'-cent, that's by how much.
Obama has 55% of the 18 to 24 year-olds, compared to McCain's 32%. And that's up 2% since March. This is probably why McCain wants to keep the Iraq war going -- he wants to kill off all the 18 to 24 year-olds. It's his only hope. (Political Wire)
-Global warming will give you a headache-
And a runny nose and sneezing and burning eyes. According to the report, "Recent research indicates that increasing global temperatures and carbon dioxide levels are causing longer ragweed seasons and more concentrated pollen counts." It turns out that a longer season isn't the only problem here, increased carbon dioxide "has boosted pollen production by 61 percent to 90 percent in some types of ragweed."
Great, now we've got melting glaciers and allergies. This is really going to suck... (HealthDay)
