The Stuff I Didn't Get To -- 10/29/08

'Stop Obama' tour bus
A much shorter bus than it looks like

-Headline of the day-
"Conservative PAC Holds Press Conference, Accuses Obama of Everything Ever."

The Our Country Deserves Better PAC ended it's national "Stop Obama" tour at the National Press Club in DC today. If you missed the tour, I can sum it up for you in three words; "horseshit for idiots."

At a press conference, we learned, among other things, that Obama doesn't understand that rights are granted by God, that he'll "extinguish" freedom of speech with the "storm troopers around him," that he may not be an actual American, that he wants to give $800 billion to Africa, that he's a socialist, that he has "crazy ideas, dangerous ideas in dealing with those who would like to lop our heads off," that WMD were found in Iraq, and that he's tight with the mob in Chicago.

Oddly, the report I read didn't mention William Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, pointy-headed intellectuals, or arugula. These people must be getting tired. Losing takes a lot out of you. (MoJo Blog)

-Quote of the day-
"I don't want to sound racist, but I don't want a black man running my country." -McCain supporter in Pennsylvania.

How can you possibly say that and think it doesn't sound racist? "I don't want to sound sexist lady, but could you drop your pants and dance around for a while?" is the only "I don't want to sound ___" sentence I could think of that would be more ridiculous.

And that's just one of many insane things McCainsters in Pottsville say for the camera. Proof positive that McCain has the stupid people vote cornered. (Dispatches from the Culture Wars, with video)

-There's a time and a place for everything...-
...and this was neither the time nor the place.

Campaigning in Toledo, Sarah Palin appeared at a solar technology startup to talk energy independence to workers there. The city is a rust belt city, with industry and manufacturing struggling to make a comeback and provide jobs. Solar tech and other alternative energy sources are widely hoped to bring manufacturing jobs back to the US.

And so it was that Sarah Palin was a freakin' idiot. According to the report, "Palin made only a passing reference to solar power in her speech and instead renewed her call for more drilling in U.S. coastal waters. She repeated her signature anthem, 'drill, baby, drill,' which seemed to fall a bit flat on the audience at the plant even as it's become a popular chant at her rallies."

Golly, I wonder why it bombed at a solar technology plant?

Chill, baby, chill... (Associated Press)
