Obama Takes Ohio

clipped from rawstory.com

Obama: CT, DC, DE, IL, MD, MI, MN, NJ, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, VT, WI
McCain: AL, AR, GA, KY, KS, ND, SC, WV, WY
Too close to call: CO, IN, FL, LA, MO, MS, NC, NM, NE, TX, VA

Obama is headed to victory in Ohio, giving him a nearly impenetrable path to victory in the 2008 presidential election, networks projected Tuesday evening.

Ohio -- a state carried by President Bush in 2000 and 2004 -- is the first red state to end up in Obama's column. Unless something drastically unexpected happens in the remaining states, Obama will become the nation's next president.
I thought Virginia would be the clincher, but that still remains too close to call. If Obama winds up taking that as well, then the extremely improbable takes a big jump toward the largely impossible.

Breathe easy, Obama backers. This thing looks like it's in the bag.
