-Headline of the day-
"Coleman takes job."
You remember that Minnesota Senate race between Al Franken and Norm Coleman? The one with the recount and the Lizard People?
Yeah, that's not over with yet.
Or maybe it is. Despite still pursuing legal challenges to Franken's certification as the winner, Norm seems to be moving on. He'll take a position with the Republican Jewish Coalition as a "consultant and strategic adviser."
Consultant and strategic adviser... Did I mention he lost?
Here I thought we were in a competitive job market. (Duluth News Tribune)

Wait a second, that's not funny...
Now I'm all whacked out on hope again. Dang, it's hard to come down from this stuff... (MarkFiore.com)
-Republican Lala-land-
If you go to the National Republican Congressional Committee's website, go to "Issues," and choose "Economy," you'll be greet with this sentence at the very top of the page; "Thanks to Republican economic policies, the U.S. economy is robust and job creation is strong."
Wow. What's it look like when it sucks? If I were you guys, I wouldn't be taking credit for this. (NRCC, via reddit)
-Bonus HotD-
"Ill. gov tells AP that strain is like Pearl Harbor."
Noted jogger Rod Blagojevich told the Associated Press, "Dec. 9 to my family, to us, to me, is what Pearl Harbor Day was to the United States." Did the Japanese sink a bunch of your ships and kill hundreds of members of your family, Rod?
As you can imagine, that statement didn't go over real well -- what with being ridiculous and all -- so Rod came out with another tortured analogy. Here's your Extra Bonus HotD: "Blagojevich likens his situation to sneaky cowboy."
What the fuck does that even mean? (Associated Press)
