A few points being lost in the shuffle here:
1. Barack Obama won the Catholic vote.
2. Barack Obama won Indiana.
3. Barack Obama won St. Joseph County, which includes Notre Dame, in a 69,000 to 49,000 landslide.
The idea that the protesters represent the average Notre Dame voter is ridiculous. Obama's Indiana win was slim, but at Notre Dame, he kicked ass. I think they might've known he was pro-choice then, since I don't remember it being a big secret.
This is a case of the squeaky -- but otherwise inconsequential -- wheel getting all the media grease.
