"Republicans Who Opposed The Stimulus Continue To Pan It As A ‘Failure,’ While Also Taking Credit For Its Success."
It's Communism, it's Socialism, and it's a big fat failure that's just doing a bang-up job. The success of this failure depends on whether or not Republicans want to take credit for it, so fence-straddling has become the new big thing for GOPers. The stimulus is bad, until it's good, and the way you deal with that inconsistency is to not mention that stimulus money is actually stimulus money.
So, for Rep. Blaine Luetkemeye, the stimulus is a "large-scale failure," while stimulus money for a program in Frankford, Missouri is "critical." Luetkemeyer has already been to the stimulus well once for $100 million.
Rep. Michael McCaul calls the stimulus "pork-filled," which is unfortunate for him, since a highway expansion in his district is a big stimulus project.
Rep. Geoff Davis took $1,044,140 for a school system in his district, which seems a little irresponsible of him since he says the stimulus has failed. Why would he want to impose this failure on students in his own district?
According to the report, "House Republican Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) recently hosted a job fair filled with jobs fueled by the stimulus, and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has been taking credit for stimulus projects in his home state."
Apparently, the Republican Party has been infiltrated by commies. No one can save us now. (Think Progress)
