Stories to Watch: 9/27/10

Hey, how about that awesome infrastructure we have, huh? Turns out it's made out of sugar. Now we're paying the price up north of here. But when you've got a lot of idiots who think freedom means a free ride, you're going to wind up getting what you paid for -- nothing. Now here's the news...


From Greg Sargent: A new CNN poll shows that people prefer Republican economic policies to Democratic ones but, at the same time, that Republican economic policies are what got us into this mess. My takeaway, people don't know WTF they want, they just know they don't want the status quo.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people -- using guns from states with permissive gun laws.


CNN's Anderson Cooper gets into an argument with an anti-Muslim candidate about Park51 being a "victory mosque," telling her, "That's like the lowest response I have ever heard from a candidate, I have got to tell you." It may not be pretty, but getting to the truth sometimes requires a confrontational stance. Besides, there's no law that says you have to be nice to bigots.

Steny Hoyer's idea of "leadership" needs a little work. Apparently, he thinks it means "letting the Senate call the shots."


Obama tells young voters to get up off their butts. Here's hoping they listen.


Finally, on the subject of the president, I'm going to be out tomorrow. I'm attending a rally at the UW. There probably won't be any updates. Sucks to be you.
